As the scorching summer heat arrives, with higher temperatures and increased humidity, it's crucial to focus on the maintenance of gas generators. Proper care ensures stable, efficient performance throughout the season. To help you keep your generator in top shape, we’ve prepared a detailed summer maintenance guide. Let’s get started!

1. Adjust Ventilation Frequency

With rising temperatures, the density of air decreases, and the oxygen content per unit volume drops. To address this, adjust the intake and exhaust ventilation frequency to its maximum setting. This will lower the air temperature, increase the intake volume, and help meet the engine and generator’s cooling requirements, ensuring proper combustion and heat dissipation.

2. Utilize Air Dryers Efficiently

In summer, the temperature of the gas increases due to the environment. To tackle this, make effective use of air dryers. These dryers remove excess moisture from the gas, reducing its temperature and increasing its density. This process enhances the energy content per unit volume of the gas, helping the generator run at high power.

3. Clean the Radiator

The engine's cooling design is typically based on the heat generated by the cylinder water. However, over time, dust and debris accumulate on the radiator fins, reducing cooling efficiency. It's essential to remove the fan and clean the radiator using high-pressure air or water to maintain optimal heat dissipation.

4. Control Intercooler Water Temperature

In winter, the significant temperature difference between intake air and the surrounding environment allows the gas to cool efficiently as it enters the compressor. However, in summer, when the target temperature is closer to the ambient temperature, cooling becomes challenging. If the air cannot be cooled effectively, the intake temperature rises, reducing power output. To address this, increase the design temperature or enhance the cooling capacity of the intercooler system to achieve proper temperature regulation.

5. Ensure Proper Lubricating Oil Temperature

Lubricating oil plays a vital role in cooling various moving parts. At lower temperatures, lubricating oil performs best, preventing fouling and ensuring smooth operation. However, in summer, higher water temperatures can elevate the lubricating oil temperature, impairing its ability to dissipate heat. To control this, adjust the fan speed to the maximum to reduce water temperature, ensuring sufficient heat exchange in the oil cooler. This will help maintain the ideal lubricating oil temperature and prevent accelerated oxidation.

Summer can be a challenging season for gas-powered generators, but with the right preparation, you can ensure stable and efficient operation. By following the above maintenance tips, Liyu gas generators will continue to run smoothly and meet summer power generation goals.
