Gas generator sets, especially those used in power plants, are designed for continuous operation and are capable of running year-round. During long-term operation, the various components experience relative motion, which inevitably leads to wear. When the wear reaches a certain level, replacement is necessary.
Compared to other domestic brands, Liyu’s core moving parts are sourced from internationally recognized suppliers, such as valve components, which have a service life several times longer than those of other brands. However, wear is still inevitable. For example, in the case of industrial gas engines, a generator running at full load for three months is equivalent to a car traveling 216,000 kilometers (100 km/h x 24 hours x 30 days x 3 months = 216,000 kilometers). This wear intensity is comparable to an entire car’s lifespan, and it will inevitably produce some metal debris, causing oil oxidation over time.
Maintenance can be divided into two main categories:
Time-independent maintenance: This type is based on technical standards. Once certain limits are exceeded, replacement is required, such as lubricating oil or antifreeze.
Time-dependent maintenance: This type is based on operational hours. After a certain period, inspections or replacements are necessary. Maintenance levels include W30, W40, W50, W60, and W70, corresponding to minor repairs, medium repairs, and major overhauls.
Basic maintenance can be performed by operation and maintenance personnel, but more complex tasks require trained professionals. The quality of maintenance directly affects the lifespan of the generator set. Improper installation, such as overlooking the installation method, can lead to oil, water, or gas leaks. In some cases, improper torque application on bolts could lead to severe consequences.
Liyu classifies maintenance qualifications into three levels:
CC1: For W10-W40 stage work
CC2: For W10-W50 stage work
CC3: For W10-W70 stage work
Each stage implements targeted maintenance plans to ensure efficiency and accuracy in servicing.
Liyu offers a comprehensive after-sales service system, with seven maintenance levels for generator sets: W10, W20, W30, W40, W50, W60, and W70.
The overhaul cycle for a Liyu generator set (W70) is 48,000 hours. With an average annual operating time of 8,000 hours, a major overhaul is typically required after 6 years of operation. To ensure continuous stable performance, Liyu's after-sales team provides dedicated maintenance services. Except for the W70 major overhaul, all other levels of maintenance can be completed on-site at the project location.
Regular and timely maintenance, following the guidelines in the maintenance manual, not only keeps the generator set in optimal condition and extends its lifespan but also boosts its capacity and economic efficiency in the long run. With over 28 years of expertise in the gas power generation sector, Liyu has developed a robust after-sales service network. Our team’s extensive practical experience and standardized operating procedures ensure that your generator set is protected throughout its entire lifecycle.
